Personally i think piercings are cool and sexy depending on the amount and locations. Though some are so annoying and silly
I must confess i just have my birth piercings(never had d guts to face that piercing gun), sad but i really do love piercings . The origin of piercings actually go way back in time and u'd be surprised to hear the Romans actually pierced their nipples as a sign of bravery.. Yikes!!!(Me + born in that era = coward ) and also as a practical means of fastening their cloak :D The Tlingit tribe of the Pacific Northwest of America wore earrings as a sign of nobility and wealth..(hmm if only that still applied)
Some people pierce for religious or spiritual reasons, while others pierce for self-expression, for aesthetic value, for sexual pleasure, to conform to their culture or to rebel against it. Some forms of piercing remain controversial, particularly when applied to youth. The display or placement of piercings have been restricted by schools, employers and religious groups
Whatever the reason might be for a piercing, i strongly advise taking a look at one's self and knowing the kind of skin you have.
Step 1:What to consider before getting pierced
- Placement is probably the most important issue with a body piercing. Consider where you want to be pierced, and think about the implications. A facial piercing such as an eyebrow piercing, for example, may bar you from employment in some locations.
- Healing will also be impacted by placement. If you are highly physically active, a navel or belly button piercing might not be a good choice, for example, since jostling and trauma increases healing time and the risk of infection. Be aware that the area around the body piercing is going to be tender and sensitive through the healing process, and that you will need to pay special attention to it. Surface piercings will take a long time to heal, as will piercings of the cartilage. Oral piercings and ear piercings, on the other hand, are very fast healing if well cared for.
- Some piercings may scar, and some may permanently change your body, as is the case with stretched earlobes(no more fine gal for u :P). Think carefully about how a body piercing will impact you in the long term before you start researching piercing studios and piercers to work with.
- Appearances matter a lot too we wouldn't want to see your navel piercing with all the tummy fat and love handles(yuck! thats just sick) and if you have tiny not noticeable eyes pls avoid eyebrow piercings (except you have the emo look going on for you)..
- Finally if you can't take care of it or afford geniune gold or silver or at least high quality kpanda(GL or properly sterilized electroplated metals ) don't do it..
Step 2: How to care for your piercings
- Rinse your mouth after eating or drinking anything but water to keep your tongue stud free of debris. Use an antiseptic mouthwash or a sea salt and water gargle twice daily to kill germs.
- Dilute three drops of tea tree oil in a cup of distilled water and use it as an antibacterial rinse twice daily for any external piercings. Substitute a capful of isopropyl alcohol when tea tree oil is unavailable.
- Twist or rotate your jewelry gently after applying a rinse. This action allows the antibacterial agents to penetrate the piercing.
- Blot areas crusted with puss with a warm water compress. Dab a small amount of antibacterial ointment where you notice trace amounts of blood.
- Keep soap, facial astringents or toners, treatment creams and moisturizer away from the pierced area. Take care that washcloths and towels do not snag on your jewelry.
- Wear loose-fitting shirts and low-rise pants until a belly button piercing has healed and the tightness surrounding the area has subsided. Be careful not to catch facial piercings on clothes you pull over your head, on your bedding or on any protective facial gear.
- Take a multivitamin that includes zinc and vitamin C. This will help the body fight off infection and promote healing.
- Consult your piercer if you have any aftercare questions.

Pierced Eyeglasses
Born without ears? Lose them in a samurai sword fight? Whatever the case, for those of you who have found yourself both aurally and ocularly challenged, you may want to consider pierced glasses. Pierced glasses are a pair of prescription eyeglasses that stay affixed to your ugly mug(hehe!) via a piercing through the nose. Pretty clever huh?
